Why should you choose Hertfordshire Nannies?
We believe that by contacting Hertfordshire Nannies you are entrusting us to find you safe, reliable childcare.
As parents ourselves, we understand just how important this decision is. So whether you are looking for a full-time nanny or a 'one-off' babysitter, you can be assured that we would never introduce you to anyone that we would never employ ourselves.
As well as introducing you to your child carer, we also help with interview questions and contract of employment. Basically, we are happy to help you with any questions you may have, no matter how small. We have many years experience in the childcare field, so have seen and dealt with most situations that may arise.
Our parent registration form can be found in this page. There are many different types of childcare available. If you are not sure which one best suits your families' needs, please call and we can discuss your situation further.

A Nanny
A nanny will have a childcare qualification or have lots of experience. Nannies have chosen childcare as a career and should offer you high quality, professional childcare. A nanny will be capable of sole charge and will be either live-in or live out. A nanny will be involved in every aspect of your child's care, from organising leisure activities, cooking healthy meals to keeping toys clean and tidy. Hours for each job do vary widely, though a daily (live-out) nanny will usually expect to work around a 10 hour day and a live in nanny perhaps a little longer.
Mother's Help
One way of describing a mother's help is perhaps to say that she would be a 'nanny-in-training'. A mother's help will carry out the duties of a nanny and will be willing to undertake light housework and shopping. She is basically there to assist the parents but would not be expected to be left in sole charge of the children for long periods of time. A mother's help can either live in or out and the hours of work are roughly those of a nanny's.
Babysitter
A babysitter is usually a nanny or nursery nurse that will look after your children in the evening whilst you go out. All are DBS checked and are interviewed and reference checked. Our thorough recruitment process applies to every potential candidate, whether they are looking for a full time job or to join our babysitting register. We would encourage you to use 2 or 3 regular babysitters to keep the continuity for your children. Babysitters are paid in cash at the end of the evening and dates and hours are agreed in advance. Please ask about joining our babysitting club.
